Bella’s World

Bella wants to be outside and play. I love the idea – the freezing temperatures, though, make me say, “No!” too often.  So whenever we can, we say, “Yes!”

Mom and Dad attended a workshop on Special needs trusts and wills.  So Bella got to play at Kid’s Town at VIPS.  She had so much fun!

Here in Kentucky, Kindergarteners have to go to the dentist and fill out a dental form for school.  Crazy, in my opinion, but my opinion doesn’t matter.  So we went.  While this dentist came recommended, she obviously doesn’t deal well with special needs kids.  Our form was completed, but Bella and I left crying.  It was one of those moments when I wonder, “Does everything have to be hard for this poor kid?”

Therapy is so fun!

Full days make for a sleepy girl.  She is so cute when she sleeps!

Bella’s Week

Doctor ordered that Bella start receiving a tube feeding at school.  So after completing all of that fun school paperwork, I needed to go to school and train them on how to do it!    So I brought up all of the supplies.  I made Bella a social story entitled “Bella Eats at School” about eating with her friends and then getting a feeding.  She is so very defensive of her button that there was a lot of “No owie.” in her story.  I needed a couple of pictures of her eating with her friends, so I was allowed to go in the cafeteria and see them. 

She cried the first time we did it (2nd pic), but the next day she was fine.  Teacher said that after hearing her story, she lifted her shirt right up to be plugged in.  So grateful!

Therapy – she seriously loves this bike!  I just love that second pic!  And the tread mill, she just looks like such a little person!

Talked Liz into letting Bella use her bow for a little bit.  Bella LOVES the violin!

I held Bella as she drifted off to sleep on Sunday afternoon.  How I love her brown eyes and her sweet body snuggled into mine.

Celebrating the New Year!

We headed out in the cold to Ohio!  We drove over to Cincinnati and played in the best park!

By the end of the day she had learned that pockets are a good thing!
