Little Bella has captured the hearts of our family and everyone that meets her. We want to share her story with all.

Bella’s Week

IMG_2464We went to visit our GI doctor.  We have been having too many hard, distended tummies (and having a BM is a screaming affair) so we were hoping for some answers.  We got orders for a bunch of tests.  My poor baby – I hate that she knows what is coming.  I hate how she locks her wheels.  I hate that it takes so many grown adults to get blood.  I hate that she is terrified of x-rays.  Pretty much hate hospitals.  But still we are hoping for some answers.

After that trauma, we needed some fun:

OK, this just made me mad – how many clinics, doctors and nurses have been through her chart?  Oh, about a million.  And who notices that Bella is missing a Hep B vaccine?  The school nurse.  Really?  And yes, if you don’t get vaccinated by Monday, she can’t come to school.  (sorry but, really? her unprotected status from Heb B is going to become a problem on Monday, but not today or last Thursday?  No, I didn’t say any of that out loud, but yes, I obviously thought it)  So we had to go back to the doctor and get a shot.  And after Monday’s trauma that just wasn’t nice!

At the park for PT because it was so nice outside!

At the DARS Fall Festival.   Bella is funny – if she gets bored, she just takes off.  Love that she has that ability with her chair. Looking so intently at the ducks

She got a beautiful lunch and ate – the pickle!  I’ll take it!

Bella’s Fortnight

IMG_2333How can I not love Bella’s teachers?  Bella loves going to school.  Monday was Parent Teacher Conference.  So sweet.  Her teacher said that Bella lights up the room.  Ahh…yes, this Mama will listen to that all day.  She is finally starting to work with her teacher on her IEP goals.  She has given her 21 out of the 26 letters.  We are setting new goals as we approach her next ARD on the 28th.

The big girls babysat while I was at Parent Teacher Conference.  The little girls had a great time!

Bella, my lover of music!

The girls got invited to a gymnastic birthday party.  It was Bella’s first birthday party!

She loved it!  The cupcake, though…..

Thursday Bella went to see her orthopedic surgeon.  Her leg is straightening out!!  We have had a 7 degree improvement!  There are still years ahead of us, but what great news!

Bella’s energy levels are way off since her surgery in July.  She is content to lay around on the floor all the time.  It’s weird.  And she has started asking to stay in her chair at school rather than crawling around (or cruising like she did before her surgery).  Have to watch it.

It was actually a little chilly here, so into a jacket she went.  Some days she looks so big to me.  I’m glad she still is little enough for me to hold her.

Because we are Kickstarter Backers of Rachel and the Treeschoolers, we got a sneak peek at the newest episodes.  This was their reaction to episode 2.

Therapy shots – working on eating once a week now.  We’ll get this babe!  One day she will be able to jump.  That will be a great day!

Bella’s Fortnight

Bella loves selfies

IMG_2261IMG_2331

She is just so cute!  Her teachers call her Princess Bella – I love that!  There are three boys and Bella in her class.  They are so sweet with her.  I just love her little class.

My darling girl.                    Sometimes she looks so grown up!

Some mornings we just need more cuddles before we can go to school!

She loves to dance with her sisters!

Working on the horn  - so grateful her lungs are strong enough to work on this!

My sweet girl.  In so many ways now, people can’t tell where she started and how far she has come.  She is becoming more and more a normal little girl.  My heart is so happy to enjoy normal things with her.  But occasionally something happens and that icy hand is instantly around my heart squeezing tight and whispering about death.  I remind that cruel hand with the horrible voice that my baby girl is so strong and has come so very far.  How very proud I am of you Bella Boo!
