Little Bella has captured the hearts of our family and everyone that meets her. We want to share her story with all.

Bella’s Week

Our Miss Bella has a clothing fetish.  If she finds clothes on the floor, they go on her body. It’s awesome for learning to dress herself except she can’t figure out that everything doesn’t go around your neck, shirts, shorts, underwear, bras, it’s all the same to her!  -And she loves the bath!! If she hears the water running she scoots into the bathroom to see if she can get in.  I get cries of “Mom!  Come get Bella!”  They call her the Peeping Tom!

Oldest sister is about to leave the state for college, so we are trying to fit in some fun before she leaves.   We drove out to the Blue Bell Factory.  She didn’t want any ice cream, but she liked being with her people.

Another item on Becca’s “Before I leave Texas” list was some good Tex-Mex. So we went out to Gringo’s for fajitas!  Again with the not eating, but happy to be out!

Swimming (notice the the extra shirt  and PJ shirt on Bella)

Xylophone – she loves it!! Is it the sticks and the power or the incredible amount of noise she can make?? :)

Bella, oh Bella. She lost her g-button four times this week.  Just the call you want to get from home during Freshmen Orientation, “Mom, Bella’s button fell out.”  The balloon is busted and I’m nursing it along.  Hopefully we are getting a new one on Monday.  They will only pay for a new one every six months.  We usually only last about four for Bella.  Lots of phone calls.  Here’s hoping it’s here on Monday!

A friend found these stickers on the internet – love it!  Cute Jessi helped me put it on the van.  Don’t know if it will help or not.  Most people don’t realize there is a difference between handicap parking and handicap van accessible parking.  I’m just grateful that Bella is still small enough that I can pick her up.  My heart goes out to parents who seriously need that extra space and can’t find parking.

Friday morning was Bella’s ARD.  She will be attending for a 1/4 of the day.  The hope is she will be able to work up to 1/2 a day.  I am thrilled that Bella’s teacher is excited she is coming to school!  What a blessing it is to have somebody that WANTS to work with your child!

Bella’s Week

We went out to lunch.  Bella thought this was very exciting!  She is so cute!

She has been telling me lately that she wants her tube OUT!  She HATES being connected to the feeding pump.  I tell her then she has to eat and offer her a bite of something.  She always declines. Sigh!  You can’t have it both ways, baby girl!

She loves to watch videos of herself!    She thinks the violin is awesome!!

Bella’s Week

Playing with Daddy and sister on made up instruments – left over tubing for them, a 60cc syringe for Bella.  So much fun!

Therapy – OT and I talked this week about how Bella is afraid of everything!  Just makes me want to hug her and protect her all the more.  ST has a theory about Bell.  I was gone for three days this week with Joy’s surgery and an all day appointment for big sister.  So one of her sessions this week was without me.  ST says she talked and talked during that session, but when I was there for the second one, she had very limited vocalizations.  She thinks that Bella has associated sign language with me.  You know how in some homes, the mom speaks one language to the child and the dad another?  The kid figures that out.  I am the signer in Bella’s life.  Interesting!  Also gives me hope for the school year.  Her home bound teacher signed everything to her, as well as spoke to her.  Her new teacher at school isn’t as fluent with sign language.  That had me worried.  But I’m thinking Bella’s going to be OK.  She will adapt and be fine.

Look who wants to dress herself?  That is a pair of pants, a pair of underwear, a shirt and a bra over her PJs!

We visited Houston’s Japanese Gardens.  Bella loved the fish.  She took off her brake and was headed straight for the water!  Good thing someone noticed!! :)  Not sure she would have enjoyed swimming with the fish!

Bella’s Two Weeks

We went to see her GI.  Our plan to get her to eat only succeed in making her lose weight.  In case you were wondering she kinda looks like Gollum without her clothes on.  So we have decided to up her calories and just continue to offer food as she wants it.

Visiting Petco – loving seeing the animals.  Love that she can visit places like this now :)

She got her cast off.  She wasn’t impressed by that experience.  Three months and we’ll go back for another x-ray to see if that femur is growing the way we want it to.  (hoping!)

We visited Spring Creek Greenway.  There were cool snakes and things to look at.
