Little Bella has captured the hearts of our family and everyone that meets her. We want to share her story with all.

Not how I had hoped things would turn out…

Bella’s cast had been stinking – I mean from two rooms away stinking!!

Last Sunday we took Bella to the ER – they told us her cast was contaminated and to go to the doctor the next day.  Monday we went to the doctor.  They were not happy with the ER.  That cast came off and we headed downtown.  Her incision had dehissed – completely opened up – and it was very, very infected.  She had emergency surgery for irrigation and debridement.  We don’t know what this means for her knee.  We will just have to wait and see.  Infectious disease is now involved with our care.  They are treating her as if she had a bone infection.  We move forward. After a rough night of high heart rates and low oxygen stats, I did a lot of quick talking and got us home for the holidays.  She just really hates being in the hospital.  (Heart rates should not be in the 150s when you have that much pain med on board!)

Bella spent her Thanksgiving in my bed, but at least she was home!

Saturday we got to see our old PT from Houston.  She was driving through, so we meet up for breakfast.  So nice to see her and her family!
