Arabella Michele Hope Turpin
Arabella
Pronunciation: air-ah-bell-ah
Meaning: beautiful grace, answered prayer
There are two possible origins for the name Arabella. It may be a variation of the name Annabella or Annabel, which is formed from the names Anna, a Hebrew name meaning "grace," and Bella, from the Latin for "beautiful." In Scotland, Annabel was pronounced as Arabel, and eventually elaborated to Arabella.
The other possible source for the name is the Latin word orabilis, which means "prayerful" or "invokable." Based on this source, one interpretation of the name is "answered prayer."
